BURUNDI PROJECT

AMAHORO ONLUS

This video was made in Burundi, Africa, for the hospital of Ngozi, specifically for the neonatal unit. During my three-week stay in Ngozi as a volunteer, I had the opportunity to meet the hospital director, who asked me to document the Kangaroo project a program involving mothers and premature newborns, who are wrapped to their mothers’ chests in skin-to-skin contact (hence the name "Kangaroo"), in order to promote healthy and balanced growth despite their critical birth conditions.

The project also involves European doctors, who not only provide practical help in the hospital but also conduct lessons to further train local medical staff.
